Scale against giants

Although only a few photographs from Chamonix remain in the working edit, the visit helped clarify the direction of the project. It reinforced an interest in photographing around familiar subjects, searching instead for light, atmosphere, and the relationship between human presence and overwhelming scale.
In addition, I discovered the work of alpine photographer Joseph Tairraz, whose quiet attention to scale and atmosphere continues to shape my thinking.
