Phase 1: Book Image Selection

8/22/20261 min read

After printing the full working set of more than 80 photographs, I’ve begun grouping images by visual relationships, recurring forms, and possible themes. From there, the process becomes one of editing—looking closely at what strengthens each group, what feels redundant, and which photographs may ultimately fall away.

One relationship that continues to emerge is the repetition of architectural patterns across both natural and human-made spaces: structures, grids, rhythms, shadows, and forms that begin to echo one another across very different places and moments.

At this stage, the book is still very much in motion. The process is less about illustrating a predetermined idea than discovering what has been present in the work all along.
